The winner of the Bridgehampton GP of 1950 this Allard J2 is the first one with a Cadillac V8. It was originally owned and raced by Tom Cole, who also co-drove the Allard J2 that placed 3rd in 1950 at Lemans. It's racing history includes Watkins Glen, Buenos Aires, and Mt Washington.

After 15 years of vintage racing , some street use, including  the Mt. Washington Hillclimb it arrived at VSR running on 5 1/2 cylinders, smoking blue, and leaving a well lubricated bath in it wake  . . . along with a very loose suspension.

Over the next 11 months Mario completely disassembled the car and rebuilt the engine to run as new, and restored the suspension to perform as designed. This project was not a typical restoration, as I strived to maintain patina and every bit of originality.
